The weekend
A simple crush
no big deal
don’t worry about it
try not to think about him
you can’t possibly be falling this fast
you don’t even know him
These are all the thoughts that have been running through my head the past 4 days. So that guy I told you about, Seth, well I spent some time with him this weekend. Let’s start at the beginning.
Friday night: I get a call from my friend (the same friend who’s graduation party I first met Seth at). It was already 10:30pm and she wanted to know what I was up to. She was with a group of our friends (one other girl and 4 guys) and they were about to head to a bar out on long island. So wanted to know if I wanted to join. She was only in town for a few days so I really wanted to hand out with her. Plus Seth was there, and I was dying to see him. (I had just gotten back from a 2 week vacation). So we all met up at Seth’s house to carpool. He looked even better than I remember.
When we got to the bar it was a lot of fun. We just all seemed to be relaxed and having a low-key fun time. But the more time I spent around him, the more I realized how strong my feelings were. That plus the alcohol and I knew I needed to slow down. If I wasn’t careful I would say or do something that I didn’t want to. But luckily that didn’t happen. But everyone did decide that we wanted to have a game night the next night, so Seth offered to host.
Saturday Night: Two of my girlfriends and I arrive at Seth’s house around 8:45. I brought stuff to make guacamole, and I made it in the kitchen while we waited for the rest of the boys. The plan was to BBQ, have some snacks, and play board games. The board games part never really happened because it was getting really warm inside the house so we all went out to the backyard. Seth has a fire pit in the back so everyone started roasting marshmallows while they waited for the burgers and chicken. Seth started the grill and I volunteered to cook the meat.
He would come over every once in a while to make sure I was ok, and ask if I needed anything. He was so cute and sweet, I was melting on the inside. Once we were done eating, everyone sat down around the fire. I asked one of my friends to grab me a beer, and Seth said that he had wine if I wanted. (it was sweet that he remembered that I usually drink wine) but I told him I was fine with beer.
The rest of the night was a lot of fun. The perfect casual summer night with friends.
Sunday: On Sunday we all went to church. Seth wore a suit and looked really good. After church we all went to a diner for lunch. It was the perfect weekend.
But now I can’t stop thinking about him. I really need to take this down a notch. I don’t even know if he likes me.
Stay tuned.
